3. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- take and deliver your orders, and process payments, returns, and refunds;
- create and manage your account;
- answer your questions and provide customer support;
- send transactional messages such as order confirmations and shipping updates;
- send marketing emails when you have agreed to receive them;
- protect the store against fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
- keep records and meet tax, accounting, and other legal obligations;
- analyze how visitors use the store, and measure and show our ads, where you have agreed or the law allows it;
- improve our website, products, and service.
Legal bases (EEA and UK visitors)
If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, we rely on these legal bases: performing our contract with you (orders, delivery, returns), our legitimate interests (store security, fraud prevention, improving the service), compliance with legal obligations (tax and accounting), and your consent (marketing emails and non-essential cookies). You can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that happened before.
4. Who receives your information
We share personal information only with companies that help us run the store, and only as much as each one needs:
- Shopify. Our store platform. Shopify hosts the site, processes checkout, and stores customer and order data on our behalf.
- Payment processors. They authorize and settle your payment. They act under their own privacy policies.
- Shipping carriers. They receive your name, address, phone number, and email for delivery and tracking.
- Email and support tools. If you contact us or subscribe to our emails, the service we use to send or manage those messages (such as Klaviyo or Mailchimp) receives your contact details, message content, and email activity.
- Analytics providers. Services such as Google Analytics receive cookie identifiers, IP address, device data, and the pages you view, so we can understand how visitors use the store.
- Advertising partners. Services such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok, and Google Ads receive cookie identifiers, device data, and details of your visits and purchases, so we can measure our ads and show them to you on other sites.
- Professional advisers and authorities. Accountants, lawyers, and government bodies, where the law requires or a legal claim makes it necessary.
- Business transfers. If we merge with or sell the business to another company, your information may transfer to the new owner under the commitments in this policy.
We do not sell your personal information for money. When advertising cookies are active, our advertising partners receive the data described in Section 5. California and some other US states treat that as sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, and you can opt out at any time (Section 8).
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Our store uses cookies and similar technologies provided by Shopify. They keep your cart, remember your region and currency, keep you signed in, protect checkout, and help us detect fraud. These cookies are strictly necessary, and the site cannot work without them.
We also use analytics and advertising technologies. In the EEA, the UK, and other regions where the law requires consent, they run only after you accept them in our cookie banner. In the United States they run unless you opt out.
- Analytics. Google Analytics and similar tools show us which pages visitors view and how they move through the store.
- Advertising. Pixels and tags from Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok, and Google Ads let us measure our ads, show our products to people who visited the store, and reach similar audiences. These partners receive cookie identifiers, device data, and details of your browsing and purchases.
- Email marketing. Our email tools, such as Klaviyo or Mailchimp, record whether you open and click our emails and which products you view, so we can send relevant messages and abandoned cart reminders.
You control these choices in the cookie banner and by emailing info@vexnr.com, and you can change them at any time. We also treat the Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as an opt-out of sale, sharing, and targeted advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the store may stop working.
6. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above:
- Order and payment records: up to 7 years, to meet tax and accounting rules.
- Account information: until you close your account or ask us to delete it.
- Support messages: up to 3 years after the case closes.
- Marketing preferences: until you unsubscribe, plus a short record that you did.
- Server and security logs: up to 24 months.
When the retention period ends, we delete the information or anonymize it.
7. International transfers
We and our service providers operate in several countries, including the United States. If you live in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, your information may leave your region. Where required, we use legal safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, and we limit what each provider receives.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your information, subject to legal exceptions such as tax records;
- receive your information in a portable format;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent you gave us;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising (use the cookie banner, a Global Privacy Control signal, or email info@vexnr.com);
- not be treated unfairly for using these rights.
To use any of these rights, email info@vexnr.com from the address linked to your order or account. We may ask you for details to confirm your identity. We respond within 30 days, or within 45 days for California requests, and tell you if we need more time. An authorized agent may file a request for you with written proof of permission.
If we refuse a request, you can appeal by replying to our decision within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office. In the EEA it is the authority in your country of residence.
9. Notice for California residents
If you live in California, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you the rights listed in Section 8. In the past 12 months we collected the categories of personal information shown in Section 2 for the purposes in Section 3. We disclosed them to the recipients in Section 4 for business purposes. When advertising cookies are active, we share identifiers, internet activity, and purchase information with advertising partners. California treats this as sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, and in some cases as a sale. You can opt out by emailing info@vexnr.com or with a Global Privacy Control signal. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 lets you ask, once a year, which categories of personal information we gave to third parties for their direct marketing. To request that notice, email info@vexnr.com.
10. Notice for other US states
Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, and other states with privacy laws have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of their data, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, and profiling. Use the contact method in Section 8 to exercise them.
11. Security
We protect personal information with technical and organizational measures, including encrypted connections and access limits. We rely on Shopify and our payment processors for secure checkout. No system is completely secure. If a breach affects you, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires. Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we notify the supervisory authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach.
12. Children
Our store is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, write to info@vexnr.com and we will delete it.
13. Third-party links
Our site may link to other websites, including social media pages and carrier tracking pages. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Read their policies before you share information.
14. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practices or the law change. We post the new version on this page with a new effective date. For material changes, we will also notify you by email or with a notice on the site. Earlier versions are available on request.
